Latest news on Ekrem İmamoğlu, a Turkish businessman and politician who currently serves as the Mayor of Istanbul.
He was first elected in March 2019, but the election was later annulled and he was re-elected in June 2019 by a large margin. İmamoğlu has been called a possible candidate for the Turkish presidency. In December 2022, he was sentenced to prison for "insulting electoral officials" and banned from politics.
