Pennsylvania is considered a swing state. In the federal government, Pennsylvania is represented by two U.S. Senators and seventeen U.S. Representatives. Both Senators Bob Casey Jr. and John Fetterman are Democrats. Of the seventeen Representatives, nine are Democrats and eight are Republicans. Pennsylvania has a Democrat governor, Josh Shapiro, who was elected in 2022. The state legislature is divided between a split House of Representatives and a Republican-controlled State Senate.
