About our New York Knicks news

Latest news on the New York Knicks, a professional basketball team based in New York City. They compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the Eastern Conference Atlantic Division. The team plays its home games at Madison Square Garden, an arena they share with the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League (NHL). They are one of two NBA teams located in New York City; the other is the Brooklyn Nets.

The Knicks were founded in 1946 as one of the original members of the Basketball Association of America (BAA), which later merged with the National Basketball League (NBL) to form the NBA. The Knicks have won two NBA championships, in 1970 and 1973, led by Hall of Famers Willis Reed, Walt Frazier, Dave DeBusschere, Earl Monroe, and Bill Bradley. The Knicks have also won four conference titles (in 1972, 1973, 1994, and 1999) and eight division titles (in 1953, 1954, 1970, 1971, 1989, 1993, 1994, and 2013).

The Knicks are currently led by head coach Tom Thibodeau and general manager Scott Perry. They have retired nine numbers: 10 (Walt Frazier), 12 (Dick Barnett), 15 (Earl Monroe and Dick McGuire), 19 (Willis Reed), 22 (Dave DeBusschere), 24 (Bill Bradley), 33 (Patrick Ewing), and 613 (Red Holzman).
