    About our Philadelphia Phillies news...

Latest news on the Philadelphia Phillies, a professional baseball team based in Philadelphia and part of the National League’s East Division. Founded in 1883, the Phillies are one of North America’s oldest baseball teams and have played over 120 consecutive seasons since the first World Series.

Since the team’s establishment over 140 years ago the side have only won two World Series championships, the first coming in 1980, the Phillies 97th season since their foundation, and their second triumph taking place in 2008. While they only have two titles to their name, the Phillies have reached the World Series on six other occasions and have won the NL East Division 11 times. The team’s colours are red, white and blue and their logo includes the city’s famous Liberty Bell.

In 2004 the Phillies moved to Citizens Bank Park a new 42,000 capacity stadium that had been built for the as the new home of baseball in Philadelphia. Before their relocation the Phillies spent 32 years playing at the Veterans Stadium before it was demolished to make way for Citizens Bank Park.
