About our Uyghur Issues news

The latest news on Uyghur issues, including Uyghur Muslims' treatment in China, and controversial Uyghur camps in China.

The Uyghurs, sometimes spelled Uighurs, are a Turkic ethnic group, and are recognised as native to the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region in Northwest China. International attention has focused on extensive controls and restrictions imposed by the Chinese government on Uyghurs in Xinjiang, including reports of internment camps that have been criticised by human rights organisations over alleged human rights abuses.
