He was born in Brooklyn, New York and attended Florida A&M University and Florida State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in finance and marketing. Donalds was a member of the Tea Party movement and ran for the U.S. House of Representatives in 2012, before being elected to represent the 80th district in the Florida House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020. He was elected to Congress in 2020 and has supported the Repeal of the 2002 AUMF and objections to the certification of electors from Arizona and Pennsylvania in the 2020 presidential election. In the 2023 Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives election, Donalds obtained enough Republican votes to deny Kevin McCarthy the speakership.
