    About our Mauricio Pochettino news

Latest news on Mauricio Pochettino, an Argentine professional football manager and former player who played as a centre-back for clubs such as Newell's Old Boys, Espanyol, Paris Saint-Germain and Bordeaux. He also represented Argentina 20 times and played at the 1999 Copa América and 2002 FIFA World Cup.

Pochettino began his managerial career at Espanyol in 2009 and led them to two mid-table finishes in La Liga before leaving in 2012. He then joined Southampton in 2013 and improved their results and style of play, earning praise for his high-pressing and attacking philosophy. He left Southampton in 2014 to join Tottenham Hotspur, where he transformed them into a top-four team and title challengers. He also guided them to their first Champions League final in 2019, where they lost to Liverpool.

Pochettino was sacked by Tottenham in November 2019 after a poor start to the season and was replaced by José Mourinho. He then joined Paris Saint-Germain in January 2021, where he won Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France in his first season. However, he left PSG by mutual consent in August 2022 after failing to agree on a contract extension.

Following weeks of rumours, and shortly after the conclusion of Chelsea's 2022-23 season the club confirmed Pochettino as their next permanent manager on a two-year deal. The Argentine took over from caretaker and club legend, Frank Lampard. At the end of the 2023/24 season and following an underwhelming campaign, Chelsea announced it had mutually parted ways with manager Mauricio Pochettino.
