Latest news on the New Jersey Devils, a professional ice hockey team based in Newark who compete in the Metropolitan Division of the NHL's Eastern Conference.
Founded in 1974 as the Kansas City Scouts, the team was rebranded as the Colorado Rockies in 1976 before being moved and rebranded again as the Devils in 1982. They play their home games at the Prudential Center located in the Business District of Newark.
They have three Stanley Cup titles to their name, with the most recent coming in the 2002/03 season after defeating the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim over seven games.
The Devils also have minor league affiliations with the Utica Comets of the American Hockey League (AHL) and the Adirondack Thunder of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL).
