Meghan and Harry

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, married in May 2018 before ceasing to be working members of the British Royal Family.

Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, was born on 15 September 1984, as the younger son of Charles, Prince of Wales and the late Diana, Princess of Wales, which makes him sixth in the line to the British throne. Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, was born Rachel Meghan Markle on 4 August 1981, in Los Angeles, California, and is a former actress. The couple met in 2016 and married two years later, in St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. In January 2020, the Duke and Duchess announced that they were stepping back from their role as senior members of the Royal Family, in a move dubbed Megxit. In February 2021, Buckingham Palace confirmed Prince Harry and Meghan would not return as working members of the Royal Family. Under the arrangement, the couple gave up their HRH titles, but Harry retained the title of prince. The Duke and Duchess became financially independent, ceased to represent the Queen, and relocated to the US, where they live with their son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor. In March 2021, in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan and Harry announced they were expecting a baby girl.
